Attachment in Adoption
This training reviews Attachment Theory and will:
- Discuss adult attachments
- Build concrete skills in developing attachments for children in foster care and children adopted out of foster care
- Help participants to view behaviors through an attachment lens
Building attachment with a your current or future child is essential to stabilizing the family in the short or long-term. Successful parents benefit from understanding how the attachment dynamic functions in all relationships; especially the one they have with their children.

Child Specific Recruitment Referral Form
Boys & Girls Aid (BGAID) holds a contract with the Department to provide Child Specific Recruitment services for any child or sibling group with a permanency plan other than return home. This service involves preparing the child or sibling group for permanency, biological family search and engagement, and preparation of the permanent resource for transition.

Oregon Foundations Training at Boys & Girls Aid
We offer free quarterly trainings for all families pursuing Foster Care Adoption or Foster Certification in Oregon. Registration to attend is required and space is limited; most training sessions fill up one month in advance.

We use a secure website for collecting donations and there is limited access within the agency to that data.
