Waiting Families

Families who are excited, ready and waiting to welcome the newest member of their family

Families at Boys & Girls Aid come from locations all over Oregon and Washington. We work with families of all shapes, sizes, and family structure.
Our adoptive families are qualified and fully screened. As part of the qualification process, families must go through an “adoption study” or “homestudy”. This includes:

Background checks (criminal and child protective services)
DMV checks
Verification of financial stability
Health screening
Safety inspection of the home
Extensive training
In-depth evaluation of their life experiences and readiness to be an adoptive parent
