Dear Birthparent,
We would like to express our sincere respect and thanks to you for considering us as you plan for your child’s future. We look forward to establishing a comfortable, supportive, and lasting relationship with you and your family. We are honored to be considered in this very important decision.
The more we worked on our family book, the harder it became. We thought we could sum up our lives, our relationship, and the things that matter in a few paragraphs and a lot of pictures but we found ourselves wanting to explain to you why this picture was so great or what was making us laugh or how important the moment was to us, and then the book was a novel!
We are like many of the couples you will read about: we love our families, our friends, where we live, and what we do. We had to think about what makes us special, special enough to be parents to your child. We think we figured it out – we love our life and find joy in living it. We want to share it with a child! That sounds so corny but it makes sense in everything we do.
We love new experiences, learning about people and places, and we like to try new activities. We love the little things like the perfect, delicious cherry tomatoes we grew last summer and the little snore sounds our cat makes. We enjoy cooking the perfect Thanksgiving dinner with five courses just for the two of us. We love to laugh, listen to music, enjoy nature and have fun. Every time we find joy in something around us it just makes us wish even more that we had a child to share it with.
We value education and hope our child likes school and we will encourage our child to be involved in activities and try different things. We have spent a lot of time the last couple years thinking about the life we want our child to have and what kind of parents we want to be. We believe we can create a great family and we will do our best to make sure that our child finds happiness in life and in living it with us.
This letter from us is just a glimpse into the future our child will have. Thank you for considering us.
