Discover the Adventure of Mentoring

image

What does adventure mean to you? Could it include meeting new people, giving back, and trying something new? If so, maybe it’s time to embark on your next adventure with Mentor Portland.

Mentor Portland is a unique mentoring program that connects safe and caring adults with Portland youth between the ages of 8 and 14. Our youth have different stories and different struggles, but the need is the same: someone they can trust, someone who is consistent, someone they can look up to, and a sense of safe community. A mentor’s year-long presence makes an impact that lasts a lifetime—for both the youth and the mentor.

What Makes Us Different

Mentor Portland is unique because we offer fun group activities to support the mentor-youth relationship. Shared experiences build confidence and a connection between a mentor and a youth. Activities include bowling, ropes courses, rock climbing, camping, and day trips to the coast.

We also take great time and care in pairing mentors and youth. Our professional staff provides intensive pre-match and ongoing trainings. Our mentors have the tools and support they need to feel confident and prepared in their mentoring experience.
