Our Recruitment Team has created resources and conducts general and targeted recruitment for foster and adoptive homes around the state. The Reach Out to an Oregon Child campaign reaches the public through radio messages, newsletters, print materials, events and presentations. A special focus on foster care occurs during National Foster Care month in May and around adoption in November for National Adoption Month. Boys & Girls Aid also works with the Oregon Department of Human Services (DHS) to write and update webpages focused on recruitment of homes. Visit fosterORadopt.com.
Targeted recruitment focuses on the children for which there is the highest need for homes, such as teenagers and sibling groups. Boys & Girls Aid recruiters plan specific activities to raise public awareness of the need for homes for these children.
A toolkit of recruitment ideas and general and targeted materials for Oregon can be found here. DHS staff are free to use these materials and may order many of the print materials to use in recruitment by contacting us at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).
