Corporate Matching Gifts
You may be able to increase your gift by taking advantage of a corporate matching gift program at your place of employment. Many companies match household giving, sometimes one-to-one or two-to-one. Contact your company’s Personnel or Human Resources Department to find out if your employer has a Corporate Matching Gift program and to complete the appropriate forms. If you have any questions, please contact Desiree Harris, Executive Assistance at 503.542.2327.

Appreciated Assets
Gifts of appreciated stocks and bonds can offer special charitable opportunities for donors. Receive one of the most significant tax advantages from the IRS by avoiding capital gains tax. If you would like to make a gift of appreciated assets, please contact the Director of Development, Suzan Huntington at 503.542.2304.

Gifts of Securities
Securities (stocks, bonds and mutual funds) are an attractive means of giving as they often provide a greater tax benefit than a gift of cash.
Appreciated securities held more than 12 months are deductible from the donor’s taxable income at their fair market value, without the donor paying capital gains tax on the appreciated portion of the gift. Gifts of securities are valued at the average of the high and low market prices on the date of sale.
Transferring publicly-traded stock, bonds or mutual funds to Boys & Girls Aid is simple and straight-forward.
When transferring investments to Boys & Girls Aid, please notify Suzan Huntington, Director of Development to receive the DTC and account number and to assure efficient handling, appropriate computation of the market value and recognition of the gift.

Life Insurance
Use an unneeded paid-up policy with immediate benefit to Boys & Girls Aid.

Personal Property and Real Estate
Gifts of property are accepted, provided they comply with our real estate policy. You should consult, .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address), Director of Development before considering such a gift.

Retirement Assets
The remainder of your retirement plan assets may be worth more donated to Boys & Girls Aid than to your heirs.
