Water is a 19‑year‑old aspiring hairstylist and cosmetology student living in Boys & Girls Aid’s Compass program for youth transitioning out of foster care. She’s excited to share her experiences and tell the story of how the support of her community is empowering her to build the confidence and skills she needs to thrive.

Don & Aprilla McPherson
Don and Aprilla McPherson have been foster parents for nearly 13 years — including more than a decade fostering with Boys & Girls Aid.
We are honored to be presenting them with the inaugural Boys & Girls Aid Fostering Futures Award at this year's Foster Love Gala, in celebration of the lasting impact they have made and continue to make on the lives of children in foster care.
