Make Your Holiday Giving Last All Year

‘Tis the season- for giving! Winter holidays stir up charitable feelings in many people. In fact, according to Charity Navigator, 31% of annual giving occurs during December, with 12% of annual giving taking place during the last three days of the year.  

At Boys & Girls Aid, we love year-end donations, and are very thankful to our donors for their generosity during the holiday season. However, our need doesn’t end when the calendar does. To support the youth and families we serve, we need donations year-round.  

Here are a few ways you can make your holiday giving last all year. 

Monthly Gift

Instead of one yearly gift, consider a recurring monthly gift. This can be easier on your wallet since you can opt to do lower amounts at a time, while still giving the same amount (or even more) over the course of the year. 

Our website makes it easy to set up a monthly donation. On the donation page, simply check the box for “Make this a monthly gift,” and voila! Your donation will automatically be paid from your credit card each month on the day of your choice. 

Birthday Club

We have a unique opportunity for giving that not a lot of other nonprofits have- the Birthday Club! Some children in foster care have never had a birthday party before. We make sure every youth in our Nest program gets to celebrate their birthday with cake, presents and activities all based on a theme that they choose. 

We need help from our supporters to make these parties happen. You can join the Birthday Club for only $15 a month. Birthday Club members receive updates and have opportunities to volunteer at parties if they wish.  

Amazon Smile & Fred Meyer Community Rewards

Finally, you can donate to Boys & Girls Aid without giving any of your own money using Amazon Smile or Fred Meyer Community Rewards (or both!). 

Amazon will donate .5% of your eligible purchases to a charity of your choice when you shop at smile.amazon.com or activate Amazon Smile in the app. Just make sure to select Boys & Girls Aid as your charity before you start shopping! 

Similarly, you can enroll in Community Rewards on the Fred Meyer app and it will donate a percentage of your purchases using the app or your rewards card to the charity of your choice.
